Fender Bass Setup: Follow this setup and you will get a good medium action.

Strings

I am a big fan of flat wound strings. Right now (Oct 2012) my main gigging bass has LaBella 760FLs, my "Rock Bass" has Fender 9050Ms, and my practice bass has D'Addario ECB82 Chromes.

The 760FLs have been on the bass since May 2004.
